The Wise Steward
The Wise Steward was not always wise. He once lived under the burden of overwhelming debt. He knows what it is to receive threatening and hostile phone calls from creditors. He knows what it is to have one's parents harrased by telemarketers making illegal threats. He despaired. He wept. The Steward prayed for release from his debt. He bought lottery tickets hoping for a big payoff.
Then the steward began listening to the advice of those wiser than he. He listened to his father. He began to read everything he could on personal finance and debt reduction. He began to put his financial house in order. Then the Steward and his wife enrolled in Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at their church. Gradually the Steward became wiser.
In the past three-and-a-half years, the Steward has paid off tens of thousands of dollars in debt and by March of 2005 will be completely debt free (non-mortage debt) and on the road to financial indepenence in the future.
